ALONE
Marijane Mae Anthony

I sit alone, with no one at all
myself to only moan, me only to listen
no one to love me, no one to share
no one to see, no one to care
no one to save me, my own tragic tale
a child by herself, only to fail
alone in a corner, with no one to play
time for a story, nowhere to lay
the story's about a child held alone
sounds just the same, as a tale all my own
i long for a pal, a partner or friend
a person to talk with, an emotion to mend
i wish all the time, some wishes come true
maybe not all, some say i am blue
my wish has come true, a child has come near
they reach out their hand, a gesture i fear
i take hold of the hand, happy at last
i've found a friend, not to go fast
we talk and play, together forever
two fates, once the same, alone again never...
