A Mangan Family Father’s Day Poem Thomas Mangan

When I was born, I was no
bastard.
His fathering skill was truly mastered.
He learned
this ability from his dad.
Grandpa died, before I was born, which is too
bad.
He raised me and my brother.
I have one dad and no
other.
He taught me right and not to do wrong.
He taught me to
work hard and keep going strong.
He told me not to be a
fool.
He worked hard and put me through school.
I now teach
some students, without a dad.
I see an emptiness in them, which is
sad.
He taught me to live on what you can afford.
He taught me
to praise and love Jesus, our Lord.
He taught me the value of a
buck.
Because he raised me, I am with luck.
I owe him a debt,
I can’t repay.
So I wish him, “Happy Father’s Day.” | |
